I would like to thank everyone who made it out to see us this past weekend at the Clarion and Demetris. We had a great time and got to see a lot of people we've missed over the X-TRA long winter we had this year.

Many of you have been asking me why I haven't been lifting any of our equipment during the set ups, and that is because in April I had Disc replacement surgery in my neck and my lifting is very restricted to how I feel, but nothing over 15 to 25 lbs. SORRY Doctors orders. The procedure takes approximately 90 days to fully heal or fuse together. But I have been feeling much better, so possibly by September I can lift all my own equipment and be able to jump around with my bass again. Just like old times!

So, for now playing my bass and light lifting is all can do. I appreciate all the people who were concerned and who have been helping me get back on my feet again. THANK YOU!!

Sly alibi would like to thank everyone who has supported us over the past seven years. We've had a lot of fun and made many new friends. During the past seven years we've played many places all over western New York and P.A. including several benefits for Fallen Firemen, Police Officers and State Troopers. We were very grateful for being able to help out their families in their time of need.

Sly Alibi has just performed our last gig together (for now) at Demetri's on the Lake in Dunkirk, N.Y. We are now in a transition to put together a whole new list of songs with a new drummer and a new look. We want to be able to give our fans and the public the sound that has won Sly alibi the Western New York People's Choice and Buffalo Music Awards in the past . To do this, it will take a little time. We plan to be ready by spring of '08 - depending on how everything comes together. We refuse to rush and settle for anything less than our goal, which is to give you a total night of entertainment that will keep you wanting more! Until then, we will be practicing and putting our new ideas together.

Once again we'd like to thank everyone who has helped to make Sly alibi what we are today.

Thank You!

Lenny, Kate & Kevin

Hello Everyone,

Yes it has been awhile since my last blog, so much has been happening. I am not going to get into any of the problems that SLY ALIBI has had with some of the local clubs, well really only one in particular, but it's all good, and there is a new year upon us, time to let by gones be by gones.

My wife Kate-(sly alibi's award winning keyboardist) is preggo once again. We are very excited and are prepared this time. In case you're wondering IT'S A GIRL! We as well as the rest of our families can't wait. May 5th is the target date so far. Just 3 more and we're done. RIGHT HONEY?Cry. I have been playing with Mike Hund and Lana Herget from the band BLACK WIDOW and Joey Bag-o-Donuts from the McCARTHYism band, and it has been a ride let me tell you. VERY professional. For those of you who know Mike Hund you all know where I'm coming from.

My wife Kate has decided to give the band life a break and be a mom. Mike Cherico has other ideas in the works, and has been playing with another local band on occasion, being Western New York's Best ROCK drummer in 2004 shouldn't take him long to find himself playing with any band he chooses. He's been in the "band scene" for a lot longer then I have and is a very experienced musician.

Kevin Widdowson and I still are working together and are throwing around many ideas on where we want the new direction of SLY ALIBI to go in. That will be kept secret until we are ready to play out again. It has been a great 6 years playing with each other with all the ups and downs that all good bands go through. Not many bands can say that they have 6 years together. It's an achievement in itself. Band years are even longer than Dog Years, one year is like ten. Trust me it can be tough.

I would also like to say thanks to Ricky Chudz from the under ground stampede and an originator of SLY ALIBI and Chris Mc Mayhem from Sunset Blvd, who helped us win the BUFFALO MUSIC AWARDS '03. There are too many bands and people to thank, many people who have made SLY ALIBI what it came to be. Also thank you to our web designer Sue ( MOM #2 ) she's good! REAL GOOD!Clap

So until SLY ALIBI Is back on the scene this summer take-care and GOD BLESS you all.

Lenny

"We just want to thank EVERYONE who came on the 1st Sly Alibi Boat Cruise last night. It was a sell out, too! The weather could have been a little better, but I think/hope everyone had a great time all the same. We heard the pizza was gone way too fast, so we're sorry about that...we'll get more for next year!

Also, we're planning on doing a "Sly Alibi" picnic on Labor Day Weekend. This would be an all ages, bring the kids, type of picnic. It would just be nice to all get together with friends and family and enjoy a lot of great musicians! We're hoping to have some, or all, of Sunset Blvd. (Chris, Rudy, and TJ were on the boat cruise lastnight...you heard Chris sing TNT by ACDC), Ricky Chudz (he was also on the boat last night playing guitar with the Skynyrd hat on), Dustin (he played guitar last night and sang Mustang Sally), and many more friends too... Drop us an email if you think you'd be interested...we're just trying to get an idea how many people we're talking about. When we firm up the details, we'll let you know all the specifics!

So, again, thank you all so much for making the boat cruise a huge success. We really did have a wonderful time! Maybe next year we'll do it in July so we can hopefully count on a little warmer night!

Bye for now, and I'll have the pictures up ASAP..."

"Only 2 more weeks until the Boat Cruise!!!  If you haven't bought your tickets yet, make sure you get ahold of us...email, phone (984-3386-Lenny), or at one of our gigs!  We're really looking forward to it...the weather is finally getting nicer and we've added some great dance songs to keep that boat rockin' for the full 3 hours!!  (I hope no one has to work the next morning...if you do, you may want to think about calling in sick!)  If you have any song requests that you'd like us to learn before the cruise, email me now and we'll do our best! The ONLY stipulation is that if you request a song, you have to dance to it. Wink Well..that's all for now I guess, hopefully I'll see you all soon.  Bye bye!"

"Yes, it's just me again! (No one else writes any blogs!) Anyways, I just wanted to let everyone know that we just booked our first annual boat cruise on the Miss Buffalo II on Friday, June 9th, from 7-10pm.  It's rain or shine. (Don't worry, it's covered if it's raining.)

We will be starting to sell tickets at our next gig, or sooner if you contact us through the website, for $25/ticket.  The cruise will include unlimited beer, wine, and soda, as well as pizza and other munchies, and of course, three hours of Sly Alibi!!  We will be doing a few different raffles, including 50/50's, Sly Alibi merchandise, and others...so bring a little cash with you if you're interested in winning some money or other fun stuff.

The boat will start loading at 6:30pm SHARP so make sure you're there on time! (The boat leaves at 7pm exactly, they won't wait for anyone!)  Also, it's a 21 and over boat cruise only and they REQUIRE  ID from everyone.  (Even if there's no doubt you're old enough, they won't let you on without ID, so just bring it!)  We're really excited about this...there's no doubt it's going to be a great night, so start planning now, get your tickets early, there's only a limited amount...and start looking forward to a night with great music, nice weather (hopefully!), lots of drinking, good food, and lots of dancing and FUN!!

Spring/Summer is just around the corner...June 9th will be here before you know it!  There will be a page on the website where you can order tickets within the next week or two, and like I said, we will be selling them at all of our gigs from now until they're sold out.  If you're interested, please don't wait until the last minute, there's truly nothing we can do once they're sold out...there's a max. capacity on the boat!

See you all soon...   Oh, and just in case anyone wants to see some newer pics of Josh (mine and Lenny's beautiful little 5 month old boy), go to www.slyalibi.com/Josh.asp .  Bye for now!

"Wow, how my life has changed in the past two weeks!! As I'm sure you all know, our little one is finally here. Actually, today is his two-week birthday! Joshua Thomas graced us with his presence at 12:59am on August 29th.

I went into the hospital on the 28th to be induced because he was taking his sweet time to come out... However, after I started going into labor at around 8pm, five hours later he was here! I'm so glad we didn't find out if it was a boy or a girl because it really gave me something to look forward to, but most of all..seeing the look on Lenny's face when he saw that it was a boy was the best!

Lenny and my mom were in the delivery room with me the whole time; they were BOTH a blessing to have with me! I told the rest of my family that they should probably go home and sleep since the Dr.'s kept telling me that it was probably going to take a LONG time...needless to say, things went a little faster than anticipated.

Josh was 8 and 1/2 pounds and 21 and 1/4 inches when he was born. I knew my back was hurting for a pretty good reason! I'm also glad they induced me when they did because 8 and 1/2 pounds was big enough for me! But, the most important thing was that he was healthy! I can't even explain how this all feels...to anyone reading this who has children of their own, I guess you know what I'm talking about, but wow, what a feeling, and most of all, what a miracle!

Boy, I wonder what instrument Josh is going to play!?! haha just kidding. (sort of!) I'm definitely looking forward to playing with the band again, but right now I'm really enjoying being a mom too! I know I can say the same for Lenny too... he is LOVING being a dad. We'll keep the Josh picture page up for another week or so, just to make sure everyone who every comes to the website sees how beautiful he is! If you've already seen his picture page, you might want to check back again, we've been adding more pictures when we can.

I'll see you all soon...bye for now!"

"Hello everyone, No, no baby yet...at least as of 2:35pm, today, August 24th, but anyways... Just wanted to let everyone know that we are doing a benefit for Lana Hergert from Black Widow . There will be live music from a ton of different bands, starting at 3pm at Club Miami/Rock 'n Roll Heaven, on September 18th. The tickets are $10 and there will be free food, free beer, prizes, auctions, and as I said, a chance to hear a lot of great bands. I'm not sure what time we're playing, but try to get there right at 3pm so you can hear everyone play! For more information, click HERE!"

"Just giving a few updates! We've been kind of quiet since 4th of July weekend...lots going on at home. Lenny and I are TRYING to get as ready as we can for new little "Baby Hill", which by the way, should be here in only a few more weeks! I just can't believe that it's almost been 9 months already; it really snuck up sooner than I thought, but I'm definitely ready to start feeling like my old self again. We had to pick THIS summer to be pregnant? haha Anyways, we have a private party coming up on Saturday afternoon at which I will NOT be playing, but probably relaxing in the pool with a virgin daqueri in one hand, and a piece of watermelon in the other. Then the next morning Lenny and I leave for our vacation to Muskie Bay (it's a little place up into Canada)!! I've gone there for the past 20 or so years and this will be Lenny's second year. We're both looking forward to some relaxation and FISHING! We had so much fun together last year...we put the pictures up on the website from 2004 and we'll do the same this year as soon as we get back.

We're coming back a little early this year so that Sly Alibi can play the Ramada on July 29th. (Plus by then we're getting awfully close to my due date, so it might help to be in the right country at least!) Well, that's it for now...we'll have more updates after our vacation. "

"Alright, well I guess this is my first blog as an official part of Sly Alibi - how exciting! haha. Anyways, to all those that don't know me - I am Dustin, the new singer/guitar player that has been added to the band for the summer (I'm not sure about the "amazing" part that Kate put down, but I try and hold my own).

I would certainly like to thank all the members of Sly Alibi for letting me come in for the summer; I've known these guys for years and it's great to be able to go out and play music with your friends all the time. I am definitely having a ton of fun doing the whole rock type of thing. Blues was mainly my thing, but I'm trying to learn whatever I can. And actually being real part of a band is very cool. I have been playing pick-up gigs, hosting open mics or doing fill ins for the past couple years, so, actually having real set lists and practices is great.

I'm not sure what more I should say here, so I hope to see ya'll at our gigs and I promise you a good time if you can make it out! Write me something if you're bored, I always like to hear from people. "

"Well, I have a lot to say in this one! First off, I'd like to say thank you to everyone who came out to see us at Milligans. It was great to have so many people there on my last full night with Sly Alibi. I saw a LOT of people from my high school that I haven't seen in years...that really meant a lot to me! I had so much fun that night but my feet were really really punishing me for it for DAYS after! haha Oh well, I guess that's what I get for dancing and standing too much at 7 months pregnant!

We have a new member of Sly Alibi for now...you don't want to miss him. His name is Dustin Francis and he's played with us before here and there, but now that he's home from school for the Summer the guys snatched him up to help out. He's an amazing guitar player/singer...he really adds a lot to the band. His debut with Sly Alibi was last Friday at the Dockside (Ramada) in Dunkirk, and of course, I forgot the camera! I always seem to do that on the really fun nights! I'll just blame that one on being pregnant. (That's been my excuse for everything lately) However, I did get some really good pictures yesterday at South Shore Beach Club when the guys played there from 4-8pm. It was supposed to be the new "happy hour" thing, called, "The Power Hour Express," which is Lenny, Kevin, Dustin, and Chris McMahon from Sunset Blvd., but due to certain circumstances Mike ended up playing most of the night on drums, so I figured to take the camera and put the pics up on Sly Alibi's website since everyone from the band was there. Hopefully I'll have a chance to get them up after work tonight.

It was such a beautiful day to be on the lake, but VERY hot! I sang a few songs and was dying...I dont' know how the guys did it all day long. I know the Seven 7's helped Lenny and the Captain and 7's helped Mike a lot! haha But, between the pictures we got yesterday and the ones we've already had of Dustin, we should have him up on the website very soon.

The band got asked to do a last minute gig at Calico Jack's this Friday at 10pm, in West Seneca on 270 Center Rd., so for all of you guys who always complain that we never play out that way...here you go, you have no excuses now!

Well, I suppose that's it for now...maybe the next blog will be from Dustin! Hope to see everyone soon...bye bye for now!"

"I would like to say thank you so much to everyone who came out for a great cause! You helped raise a lot of money for the LLB Foundation. (Live Life Better) This organization was started in memory of Larry Barreca. It raises money for cancer research and provides scholarships to high school student athletes attending post secondary institutions. We would like to say thank you to Sunset Blvd. and Bogus Otis for making the night a phenomenal success. We were honored to be asked to play for such a good cause. We would also like to thank the Velocity Room for their contributions, Norm, the guest bartenders- Jeff Affronte, Chris Vassallo, and Steve Fininzio, and the many others who helped out. Once again, thank you to everyone who showed up, and we hope to see you next year at the second annual fundraiser. Sly Alibi would like to extend a special thanks to the Barreca family who gave us the opportunity to participate in this event!"

"This weekend was soo much fun! We had a great time at Woody's on Friday, as usual. Thank you to all of our friends that showed up. We had so much fun... My feet hurt so much from dancing, I could barely stand at work the next morning. Andrea, "Mom", Renee, Jen, Tom, Mat, Aimee, and everyone else who filled the dance floor all night long, thanks, you guys were awesome. Also, special thanks to Barney and Sandy for coming out and to Danny from Bogus Otis for playing a few songs with us.

The weather has been great lately, lets hope it stays that way for our upcoming gig at Velocity in Angola on April 29th. It's a benefit for cancer victims so make sure you plan on coming out! I'm sure everyone knows at least one person that cancer has affected, so let's make sure we make this a success!

AND,last but not least, I will probably be starting my "break" from the band within the next couple of gigs here... If you haven't heard, or seen already, I'm a little over 5 months pregnant and I have to say, it's getting a little tough to keep up with everyone! I'm really really going to miss being up there with Lenny, Kevin, and Mike, but I'll be back. Still expect to see me at most of our gigs though...I'll still be watching and I'll probably get up and sing a few songs too!

Goodbye for now, we'll see ya soon! ~Kate"

"Sorry no one has written a blog in a long time! Things have been very crazy with everyone lately, between playing out, our regular jobs, and of course...mine and Lenny's wedding!! Yes, we did it! I have to say, I'm the happiest girl in the world.!

You can check out the Black Widow website...they played at our reception and were AWESOME, and they also have some pics up from the night on their site.

On another positive note, we were nominated again for the Buffalo Music Awards and the People's Choice Music Awards. The People's Choice Awards are tomorrow night, Nov. 3rd, so if you want to come out and party, I'm sure it will be a good one. There will be lots of live music, and hopefully we'll accept an award for either Best Rock Band, or Best Pop/Rock Band (the two categories we were nominated for).

Also, Lenny was nominated for best rock bassist, mike for best rock drummer, and myself for best rock keyboardist and best original keyboardist. You can still vote for us in the Buffalo Music Awards at: www.bestofwny.com/ballots/, we were nominated for Best Rock Band there. If you haven't voted, do it now, the voting closes tomorrow night (Nov. 3rd) at midnight.

Well, that's it for now, I PROMISE someone will write another Blog after the awards...maybe we'll even get Kevin to write one??? haha See you all soon...bye bye for now!"

(That probably won't help me fit into my wedding dress) Also, our private party that we played for on Saturday was super fun too...and congrats to Ray and Lisa for their wedding, I wish you both many happy years to come! "I couldn't help but respond to the last Blog that Lenny wrote. First of all, we all HAVE been putting a lot of effort into Sly Alibi lately, adding new songs, getting new equipment, designing T-Shirts and other merch... We're very lucky to have found 4 people who can get along so well with eachother. And I think I can speak for Kevin, Mike, and I when I say that we all really appreciate all the work that Lenny does in leading the band in the right direction. (He left that part out in his blog, he just talked about the rest of us, which was very nice by the way) He has been doing all the booking and lots of promotional stuff for us. I know it takes a lot of work because I usually tag along! Anyways, I guess I just wanted to say that I agree with Lenny...we really do have the most awesome band when it comes to working together, I wouldn't change it for the world. Also, this summer is going to rock, we have a lot of new gigs coming in and everyone is trying to switch their schedules so we can hopefully get a few more added too! If you've never seen us before, you don't know what you're missing!, and if you're someone who comes out to see us often, you can start looking for our new shirts in a couple weeks! See you all soon...bye bye!"

"I want to just thank the other members of SLY ALIBI for putting up with me and for the dedication you have been putting in to take the band to a whole new level. It's been lots of fun. Kate has the patience of a saint and I love her for that. Kevin just likes being close to me but that's ok Terri can trust me. LOL. Mike's cool as long as he stays away from tequila, and I don't jump over his drum set. I'm looking foward to this summer it's going to be a lot of fun."

"J.J.'s was really awesome. It was our first time playing there and we had a lot of fun. We owe Kenny from Strych-9 a big thanks for coming out and staying to party all night long. He's a lot of fun and so is their band...check them out! I also have to thank Darla of course for all of her energy and dancing as usual! We had a couple of guest singers from the band Black Ice show up. That was the first time we met them and they sounded great. They don't have a website yet, otherwise I would have put that up, but if you hear their name around, I know they've got talent.

We tried out a couple new tunes too...we did Love Shack from the B-52's and that was awesome! I don't think there was anyone there who wasn't dancing to that song. Plus we did the song B!tch from Merideth Brookes, I think Mom and Dad were the only ones who didn't care for that one! (sorry guys, it's the name of the song!) haha We'll be back at J.J.'s in June and we can't wait! Thanks again to everyone who came out!"

I would like to thank Mike Hund for setting up our gig @ ROCK-N-ROLL HEAVEN. It was a great time. I would also like to thank RUSHIN' ROULETTE for letting us use their equipment. It was awesome having a professional sound man running the show with a professional sound system. We seemed to win over a lot of the crowd with our music selection. It really wasn't easy knowing what the "ROCK-N-ROLL HEAVEN" crowds are used too, but we pulled it off.

I would also like to thank CLUB MIAMI for having us play over there afterwards due to a last minute cancellation from another band. We had to use the house PA system and well, that's a whole different story! Their crew was very helpful and friendly to work with. The crowd got really into us and we are looking forward to playing there again (with our own PA system, of course!). The whole night was a lot of fun! Dave and his club manager, Steve, gave us a great opportunity to get our name out there and we really appreciated it - THANK YOU!

I would also like to send a shout out to 97.7 HITZ FM for all the advertising and the live airing of our first song, and thank you Sue, Gary & the rest of the 'FAM' (Maria, Shelly, & Elizabeth) for your help and support.OH! and that drummer guy Chis McMahon from the SUNSET BLVD band. We couldn't have done it without you.

Hey Kev... FIX YOUR DAM GUITAR. LOL!

Go to WoodyWow, I have to say Woody's was AWESOME! What a great crowd we had too...people dancing all night long and singing along. I think the only person in the bar that wasn't singing was Kevin, he was so sick but still came out to play with us! He sure is a trooper, and so is Lenny, he could barely move! Thank God we have such awesome friends and family that came out to help. Mom and Dad, thank you for the lifting, setting up, and pictures...as always! (And great website work!)

A very very special thanks to Rich from the Music Exchange. He played acoustically and sang for us, it was awesome and the crowd really seemed to like it. Look for his band if you get the chance, it's called Big Daddy and the Spank Kings! We had a great time with him, especially when a great guest singer came up and sang Marshall Tucker's "Can't you see"...the whole band, Rich, and our singer got involved (plus the crowd)!

Mike Skowronski, from Acoustically Insane, also stopped down. Ryan from the Hitmen was awesome, you can check their band out on Friday at Mickey Callahans. Also, Rick and Chris, came down and really helped us with a lot of songs. I'm sure you recognize their names from Sly Alibi if you've seen us before or have been to the website before. They're in a new band now called Sunset Boulevard & they're playing on Friday at J.J.'s in Langford. Check them out, they're really worth hearing!

The owners of Woody's, along with the rest of the staff are so great. They always treat us the best and keep asking for us back! Also, thanks to Ray from Way Cool Productions and Todd from World Wide Entertainment - you guys were a lot of fun and we REALLY appreciate you doing our recording! I hope I'm not forgetting to thank anyone else...if you helped us out in any way... dancing, singing, playing, or hiring...THANK YOU!! We'll see you soon. Keep checking the website for up-coming news and dates, and don't forget to sign our guestbook and give us some feedback.

Well, well what can I say? Woody's has proved to be one of the best bars that Sly Alibi has ever had the pleasure of playing. The employees there are overly friendly, and we always have the best time! I would like to extend a thank you out to Rich from the Music Exchange for playing two sets. He is simply an amazing player. I'd also like to thank Ryan from the Hitmen for getting up there and tearing it up with us!

I saw a lot of friends that I haven't seen in awhile and I'd like to thank everyone who helped me personally throughout the night, making it go as smoothly as it did. To be asked back from Woody himself was an awesome compliment. I'd also like to thank Way Cool Productions & World Wide Entertainment for taking time out and helping us out with our sound. I would recommend that any band looking to do recording/promo packs, contact Way Cool Productions.

It was a pleasure playing with Chris and Rick from Sunset Boulevard (formerly from Sly Alibi). With my help, they could be the best!! Haha!!

I'd also like to thank Gary (50 years old) helping me (34 years old!) with my equipment and sound because I'm a whimp! And I'd also like to send a special thanks out to Tommy Leitch for standing in on the tambourine throughout the night. P.S. He never even took a lesson! Once again, I'd like to thank everybody and I hope to see you all soon!

It has been unbelievable how fast our new band has started clicking with our music. We're picking up right where we left off and I believe that this is the over-all best sounding band that I've ever played with. Playing with Mike has brought back a lot of memories of how the "old" Sly Alibi used to be. I'm looking forward to playing Borrello's Little Italy this week, I just have to keep Mike off the Tequilla....he gets weird...real weird!

What a busy month January was! We just recently played Borrello's Little Italy, Speedy's and Holiday's. We had a great response from the crowd and also from the club owners at each place - with requests to return. As a matter of fact, we'll be returning to Borrello's (who couldn't seem to get enough!) on Feb. 28th - which is also Lenny's birthday!!! C'mon out and celebrate with us!!!

We've got some new songs coming up for you soon - and hey, if you have any suggestions, just email them to us - or put them on the guestbook - we're open to all your ideas!

And thanks so much to all you who keep coming out to see us - you know who you are! Check out our picture pages, we've got so many pictures of you up there - especially all you dancers! You're all awesome!

(ryan was in a band called fishtale with my brother chris and me.) i don't think they could have fit anymore people in if they tried. i saw people i haven't seen in years, and my friends bud and linda also. our variety of music gets better and better.

Wow! We've had a very busy couple of weeks and I know I'm getting ready to take some holiday R&R. The awards were such a great thrill - 2 awards in 2 weeks for Best New Group was phenomenal! Each event was a lot of fun and I was really impressed by how much planning and $$ it must have taken to host them. And I can't believe my Uncle Dave and his friend Mike came out!!! That was awesome of you guys!

We had a great time at Milligan's last weekend (musical chairs was a fun twist to the evening!), The Dunkirk Moose Lodge (can't believe how many people were there!), & Speedy's (a LOT of dancing the night before Thanksgiving - and I was still up before 10 the next morning to help out with our Turkey Day...:) ).

Speaking of Thanksgiving, I'd like to just mention a few thanksgivings of my own before the Thanksgiving weekend is over: I'm very thankful to be in a great band with people who are understanding, helpful, talented, and FUN! Each has his own tastes and talents - which makes Sly Alibi SO GREAT... A special thanksgiving for Lenny and Kevin for starting the band… we wouldn't be where we are today without their talents and inspirations. I'm thankful for Kevin for hanging onto a few songs on the keyboard so I can concentrate on vocals, for Chris and the way he twirls his sticks and his ever present smile, for Rick and his precise attention to details (and for his smoke machine!), and for Lenny for his strong but kind leadership - and the constant stream of jokes! What a great bunch to be with! I'm very thankful for the support of family and friends and for all who come out and enjoy our music. What a blast this has been!

I would really like to thank BLACK WIDOW for having me fill in for their Bass player BOBBY at the EAGLES CLUB in P.A. It was quite the experience. Mike, Lana, and Joe are such great players that it was an honor to be asked to fill in. The EAGLES CLUB was packed with people who love BLACK WIDOW they were dancin, and singing, and movin to the groovin. Kate got up and sang a few songs and as always she sounded great! So once again THANK YOU BLACK WIDOW.

Well what can I say? It's been a very busy couple of weeks. On November 12th, Sly Alibi took home the Western New York People's Choice Award for Best New Group, and on November 20th we took home the Buffalo Music Award, also for Best New Group. There are just so many people we'd like to thank. Black Widow, Lana and Hund, Only Humen, and The Revivals, just to name a few. We'd like to say congratulations to all of the nominees and we've since have had so many awesome potential opportunities that the sky is the limit on where you might be seeing Sly Alibi play next. (Syracuse, Rochester, and Pennsylvania, just to name a few) We are working on so many different new song ideas for the up coming summer you will be amazed at our new music selection. We are looking forward to seeing everybody out there who supported us and voted for us this year. Thank you!

We were so pleased - AND - so suprised to find out that we were nominated (we only found out the day of the awards) for the WNY People's Choice Best New Band award! We were also nominated for Best Pop Rock Band and Kate was nominated for Best Original Keyboardist. We ended up winning the Best New Band award - how cool! We'd like to congratulate all the other nominees and winners - including everyone in Black Widow (and for best duo, Lana & Hund!), Only Frank from Only Humen, Mick Hayes, Kate Engler, Bogus Otis, Strych-9, & The Revivals - some won, some didn't - but the talent is there in every band! It was such an honor for us to get this award because it was a contest decided on by the people of Western New York - which means you guys cared enough to go out and vote for us. We feel really good about it 'cuz we worked so hard these past several months - lots of practices - perfecting some old songs as well as working on some new ones for you. Thanks to all our family, friends, and fans who voted for us! If anyone's interested, the results of the voting will be posted at Club Miami in a week or two. Also, buffalobarfly.com was taking pictures, and if you think you might have gotten your picture taken, check out their website on Wednesday! They have the winners and nominees posted right now too if you want to see . . . We hope to see you all at the Buffalo Music Awards on Thursday, November 20th (we're nominated for Best New Band again!) We hope we'll have as good of luck for this one too! C'mon out and see us at Milligan's on Friday night and the Dunkirk Moose Lodge on Saturday night! What a week that's gonna be! We're playing the night before Thanksgiving too, by the way, at Speedy's in North Collins! C'mon out and party with us before Turkey Day! Again, thanks for your support and congratulations to all of the Western New York musicians!

The big excitement for us these days is all about the music awards! You've probably all heard we've been nominated for the Best New Group in the 2003 Buffalo MusicAwards. (You can still vote for us from here, by the way: VOTE). Oh, and thanks to all who voted for us in the WNY People's Choice Awards! We really appreciate your support and are anxiously awaiting to hear if we make it into the top 5 nominees.

I was just looking again at the pictures from our gig at Limerick's two weekends ago - and thought I'd really like to say 'thanks' to Dustin for coming all the way down from school and playing a couple of songs with us. We both seem to feed off of eachother's enthusiasm when we play 'Ain't No Sunshine' together. So - 'thanks, Dustin! It was lots of fun!' Hope to see you all out at the End Zone next Saturday night - 'til then... Kate

We all had such a great time playing at Speedy's last Friday night. We're all really gonna miss Dustin. We got to do a large variety of music - and played some Sly Alibi songs with Lenny, Rick, & Chris. It was my first time playing with Tony and wow! he can really sing and play that bass! It was cool that Chris brought out his whole drum 'cage'; he was twirling those sticks all night long! I still don't understand how he can do that and still keep the beat! It was such a pleasure playing with everyone there.

The No Smoking law has been a big pain in the butt for us lately - I've been noticing a lot of the crowd is outdoors instead of inside - wonder how that is gonna be come winter time.

On Wednesday night, Lenny, Chris, & I had the opportunity to go out and see a lot of bands. Lenny and I got to both sing with Lana & Hund - Mike & Lana were great, as always - and Lenny - you rock! We also got to hear a lot of great blues players at the Lafayette Tap Room again and got to see Mike Hund once more over at Merlin's on Elmwood. I have to say, it was one of my most awesome nights! I'm very lucky to be in a band with guys that I can be be friends with too.

He's simply awesome. I didn't know how well his father (Barry) could play guitar either; it must run in the family. Tony Ozark is one of the best bass players I have ever met. We had many compliments from the staff and they're looking forward to having us back again. One of my best friends, Manuel Sanchez, showed up and sat in for a couple tunes. It's been over two years since he and I jammed together. Manuel was one of the best guitarists in Buffalo before he moved to Tennessee. He is also a great song writer and I'm sure he is wowing them in Tennessee. It was good to see Dawn, Sam,and Kim; it's been a long time. I hope to see all of you again soon!

Well, I'm off to my long-awaited vacation! I'll really miss playing with the guys on the 1st at the Nick, but I'm planning to be all rested and ready to give it my all on Saturday, the 2nd at the Ramada Dockside. It's been a great couple of weeks (except for the Shingles!) - especially last Saturday night. The crowd at Seven's was ssssoooooo supportive. Bummer about my mom's friend, Mrs. B, though... she passed right out - but I'm happy to report she's doing just fine. We must have been really great to cause that reaction! I've been enjoying the other bands around Buffalo these days. Summer's so cool for that. The Mick Hayes Band, Only Humen, Black Widow, Kate Engler Band, Eclipse, and Strych-9 are all some of my favorites . . . And "hey!" to all the folks at the Lafayette Tap Room! Well... off to wash and pack the never ending piles of laundry... "I'm buried in my bedroom under 14 feet of clothes, I could drown in all this clutter, I suppose!" (Sister Hazel). Hope the weather's better in Canada than it's been around here... sun (I hope!), fishing, reading, partying, and relaxing, here I come!

What a great crowd too - dancing and cheering - it makes a guy feel really great! Thanks to Dustin - he was awesome, as usual, ripping out 'Pride & Joy' - TWICE! Gotta hand it to Mike for sitting in on the drums too. It was an awesome night!!!
